Hawaiian Chicken Salad

Apple - A flavonoid uniques to apples has been found to help prevent menopausal bone loss. Apples also have strong fiber content. An unpeeled apple has more than ten percent the required daily fiber intake. Its two types of fiber can lower cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Apples can also help filter out toxins like lead and mercury, and reduce the risk of cancer since it can relieve constipation and send potentially toxic substances out. Apples also aid in stabilizing the body's sugar levels, preventing kidney stones, and giving protection against the sun's harmful rays.



Ingredients:

2 medium red apples, cut into chunks
1 can (439 g) del monte pineapple chunks, drained (reserve syrup)
1/4 kilo chicken breast, boiled and cubed
4 stalks celery, diced
2 tbsp. raisins
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 tsp iodized salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. calamansi juice

Procedure:

Soak red apple chunks in del monte pineapple syrup with 1 tsp. calamansi juice for 5 minutes. Drain. Combine with the rest of the ingredients. Season with 3/4 tsp. iodized salt and 1 tbsp sugar. Blend well. chill before serving.
